Cold Start

Little to see but plenty of bird song to hear. And looking close up there's usually something.

Flowers and caterpillar on oak.

Deer are known to enjoy a cold bath and stags also love rolling in mud. This could be where they do it.

Cotton grass is just starting to turn fluffy

Bracken is not a popular plant with visitors so not much sympathy will be passed on for the shoots killed by frost, larger areas than I had first thought. It will certainly bounce back. Now if someone could come up with the technology to project cold air comparable in reverse to a flame thrower..............?
