Power of Water

Water pouring over this normally well-mannered feature on the Lee Stream eventually finds its way into the River Don. The serious flooding in much of Sheffield and further afield when the Don overflowed has affected thousands of households. The impact of all that water up here is more to do with the speed at which it travels. Two trees used to grow where the bare rock is visible to the right of the falling water. The trees, soil, roots and all are now at the bottom of the slope.
