The photograph below, taken in October, shows the grove of trees planted some years ago by the Ramblers to commemorate one of their officers. It had been decided that these trees along with the few rowan and birches already growing would become an enhancement to the site at that point. And sure enough they have slowly matured and fitted in successfully. It has always been a pleasant part of several round walks on Blacka, having just crossed the little stream to stroll through these trees. In January of course inexplicable logging work done by SWT changed the atmosphere here for good.
