As a teen in western Kansas, I used to take my two dogs and go for long 1/2-day walks. The three of us would wander all over the country. However once we arrived home the tedious job of removing all the Cockleburs and other things stuck to their fur and then remove all from my pants.
However I think wandering free over the country with a couple of dogs is one of the best ways a teen can grow up.
