Music belied the dull weather. Warming up for the coming birdsong festival this morning were a good number of the resident songsters. I've yet to hear anything from the expected visitors but just here we could enjoy song thrush, robin, chaffinch and blackbird.
Three days ago a skylark was pouring forth a stream of melody near the highest point, just over the fence from Thistle Hill. Meanwhile our every step was being watched:
