Not early enough to see the sunrise over Blacka this morning. It was a blazing affair and could be seen between two houses from home at about 6.50.
A bit later the light had mellowed. This is another of the best times to visit Blacka. The sun comes up not too early for determined sunrise watchers. Often deer are on the hills.
From autumn to mid June is the best time on Blacka. This covers special winter days and also spring blossom and birdsong. July and August have their good points - mainly bilberries - but can be spoiled by midges and bracken.
