Just as last year, many times during late winter and spring this area of Blacka Moor was home to numerous deer. Then from June on just about the time the cows were brought on they were hardly to be seen. A few stags occasionally appear on the unmanaged land to the west near Stony Ridge.
Plenty of reasons might be found for the change of behaviour. One is that the vegetation just looks more interesting.
