According to Sheffield Moors Partnership's website the second of its main aims is to
develop a strategic landscape scale masterplan for the SMP area, through a robust process of stakeholder and community engagement and consultationThis blog will be watching carefully to see if the process that happens could possibly be called robust and will also be examining which elements of it can be described as stakeholder and which community; and also which elements can be called engagement and which consultation.
Now we all know that the middle managers in organisations are given to over use of hype and jargon so will not be surprised to find that this sort of statement is meaningless and considered to tie them down to nothing at all. I got an indication of this at the recent 'Feedback Meeting' when I mentioned that the draft vision claimed that their masterplan would be a model for the uplands in Britain. The NT officer, Nick Sellwood made a sort of gesture that suggested that I might be the only person present who expected those words to actually mean what they said.
