It's always worth looking for a good view of Lincoln Cathedral when there's a stormy sky overhead just spitting with rain and a long spread of orange light across the east. The
west front of the cathedral is arguably its finest architectural feature. It's pretty good even from 44 miles away. More uplifting than the power stations anyway and warming the spirit even if it doesn't warm the toes. This view would have been there for anyone to see for over 600 years. In fact the only difference would have been that the building itself would have been even more prominent in the past. In 1548 the central tower's spire blew down.
