The Greening of the Moor

A young whitebeam tree in a sea of lush bilberry shrubs. A heartening scene. But those conservationists with little imagination will disapprove of all this greenery. It does not fit with classic grouse moor habitat.

So what is the response to this unwelcome greening?

  1. Slap on a control order and declare 'unfavourable' status.

  2. Seal in the offenders and contain the problem within

  3. Send for the Habitat Enforcers.

  4. Finally employ heavyweight reinforcements.
