I cannot remember such a show of blueness on the open pasture land before. The picture can't do it justice. Of my wild flower books Phillips says bluebell is only in woods and shady places, but Francis Rose does mention grasslands and also sea cliffs.

When I was in high school we lived in northwestern Kansas. During the summer I lived and worked at a farm. I would go home Saturday evening after supper and return Monday morning before breakfast. It was not uncommon for me to spend the entire week working and not see another person other then the farmer, his wife and little girl. Your photo of Pastoral blues reminded me of that enjoyable time in my life.
