We needed it and eventually it came. We are now drying out. The appeal of the view from here is not less in this weather. It's just different.
The dead bracken which had caused worries as a fire risk absorbs water quickly and stays damp while heather seems unaffected by rain as if it could burn just as well today as last week. The determining factor I suppose is what's underneath, peat or compacted bracken.
Now the bilberry can get on and swell up. There is only a tiny amount from last year still left in the freezer.
